Yesterday I wrote about the relation between a culture and mental health criteria. Today I came across a completely opposite point of view. It turns out that there is a wish to define mental disorders through the state of neutron circuits and their commutations. And it’s a kind of application to make psychiatry a natural science. Like a blood formula corresponding an internal disease there’s a temptation to make a precise formula of the depression or the panic disorder.  The alcohol addiction researches include quite a huge trend aiming to explain this phenomenon in terms of neurochemical cerebral processes. This issue shall be spoken about another time, because a person fighting the addiction should be aware of changes in the neural activities inside the sphere we call unconscious. But even hypothetical search of the formula of psychical pathology awakens the desire to know the formula of a normal individual. The pure philosophy has it that a human reveals his or her specific characteristics only being a zoon politicon. It means the model human needs a stable model society. As the social history shows, this is only possible in the form of utopia or a strictly structured totalitarian system. The latter, by the way, in almost any of its forms (the Soviet regime, for example), sooner or later falls into instability.
