We can find an opposite approach to dieting. People eagerly listen to advice that to be healthy one shall eat properly, do sports, have a good daily routine of activities, etc. However, it happens quite rarely that they follow this advice strictly. They say it’s laziness. On the other hand, most of such pieces of advice are mere recommendations. The exceptions are few. One of them is to avoid eating sugar when having diabetes. Ignoring this recommendation (which is a must) may cause serious threats to one’s health. Moreover, the threats are to come in the nearest future.  There’s a popular saying, the nerves are the root of all diseases. Indeed, the human somatic system is rather stable. It “reports” only in a serious situation. Pain, nausea and choking gouts are some of them. Nearly always, it’s possible to track the causative relation between a symptom and a critical state of the body. Unless we face a neurosis, which is a completely different thing. Moreover, from childhood a person learn to endure that is to continue doing his or her social functions despite the body alarm signals. The communication with the mental sphere of the body is far more complex. Let’s speak about such generalized notion as the mood. A bad mood, the feeling of anxiety or fear and other psychological markers draw our attention quicker than physiological disruption signals. This puts a paradox on our way and I don’t know any solution to it. A bad mood is no threat to our lives; the feeling of anxiety is ungrounded in most cases. The fear doesn’t mean we shall immediately stop doing anything. It’s possible that the world of animals from which we inherited these feelings makes it much simpler, but the social life pushes us to go on, even if we’re afraid to get up and go to work or even if we’re suffering a panic attack with no reason to worry for the worry is a poor predictor. Thus, some people have a dead-end situation. For instance, the body must react to an alarm, but it decreases the efficiency of the person as a social being. Thus, we’ve a temptation to control our mental world in the same way doctors do. It’s like controlling the digestion or metabolism by dieting.
